The Maggie’s Story
The Maggie’s founder story begins with Lisa Baxter, who found home on the beautiful Coffs Coast after immigrating to Australia from Scotland.
Lisa has an exciting history in the field of animal care, from her success as a Marine Mammal Specialist in Mexico, to caring for a wide variety of species in zoos and sanctuaries in the UK, USA, and New Zealand, then moving on to Marine Mammal care, rescue and rehabilitation in Australia. Lisa has won awards in pet grooming and featured on the reality TV series ‘Rebel Wilson's Pooch Perfect’ as a Pet Stylist.
Lisa's true passion emerged after becoming a certified Pet Nutritionist, dedicating her efforts to educating owners on holistic nutrition and care for their pets.
In 2016, Lisa opened Maggie’s Dog Café in Moonee Beach, where she managed a successful grooming salon, while providing owners and their pooches with a unique indoor café experience. In March 2022, Lisa sold the café and salon, allowing Maggie’s to evolve into what it is today—a boutique retail store offering thoroughly researched and carefully selected products for pets. Every product is handpicked by the small team behind the scenes to ensure a service and product that exceeds expectations. Maggie’s serves as a pet wellness hub, where owners can trust that everything sold is something Lisa would personally use for her own dogs.

Eden our Pet Nutritionist
Eden joined the team in early 2020, and shares the same passion and commitment that Lisa embodies for the promotion and betterment of the health of our pets.
After suffering the loss of her own dog Ruby in 2016 to an aggressive form of Cancer, Eden began exploring avenues of nutrition that could act as a preventative measure to help her other dog Otis, who was constantly plagued with health concerns, and to find out whether it was possible to use nutrition to protect Otis against the same fate. What she found was game-changing, and for the past several years she has been deep in the rabbit hole that is natural canine health and nutrition.
Now, having amassed five certificates in Canine Nutrition, and currently undertaking certificates in Herbalism and Homeopathic’s, Eden’s passion for integrating natural remedies and nutrition to the betterment of her dog’s health is not just her occupation, but her lifestyle.
